I'll add the recommendation for the Playbook at its current price.

I use plenty of Apps on my Iphone and barely have any on the Playbook, but that's because the browser (with Flash) makes almost all commonly used apps I use unnecessary. For the odd exception I always have my iphone in my pocket anyways.

For music/videos, e-reading the playbook is just as good. For web surfing, the playbook is better (For at least the next couple years having Flash is better). . Size of screen is personal preference (The playbook fits in my jean pockets if needed). Games would be better (more choice) on Ipad.

The upcoming 7 inch android's mentioned above should be the best of both worlds, price and app availability. You may want to wait until those come out.

What are some of these apps that people cant live without on iPad that "have to be available on PB" that I dont know about. Its a serious question because everyone who I talk to says "the playbook has no apps" and the ones I use are great. Im just wondering what I might be missing and Im not talking about fart apps :)

I ended up picking up and ipad, thanks for all of your suggestions :) It's kinda cool how it connects up with my iphone and everything is all on both.

For the price Google Nexus 7 can not be beaten (and ships with Jellybean)
Samsung Galaxy Tab is also a really good model

iPad is at best average & costs double what Google or Nexus retail for

And try to stay away from all the noname brands (among other problems you will never ever get an upgrade to your OS)

Flash is going bye bye soon. Nobody will care about it in a couple of years.

I've heard that for how long now? It's still out there, so until it's gone, it's still important to me.

It is dead as far as Android, RIM, & Apple are concerned
Now that Google removed support for it who is left?

Can't believe this wasn't mentioned before. The Nexus 7 is an awesome little tablet, and cheap!!

You can't really compare a 7" tab with a 10" tab and automatically deduce it's the best. And with a measely 8GB of storage, it isn't well equipped for my use.

The Nexus 7 wasn't even announced when this thread started. It is a great price, and packs a good amount in, but quality issues are very evident due to the rush job Asus was forced to work with. And only 8/16gb models? Come on!

Yes it was
June 27 was the big media day (thread started 26) but anyone who is in any way interested in tech had been discussing this (& rumours) long before official announcement
