Hello people,

At the request of my Father, I went with him to check out an investing company called Welcome Place that deals with Forex and commodities, among other things, that guarantee that if you invest a minimum $20,000 with them, they'll give you returns of 2-3% a month, or 24-36% per annum. They claim they make a lot more than this, but they keep those profits and give you back the 2-3% every month.

In speaking with them, they also guarantee your principle and the returns.

If investing is not your thing, they can teach you how to become a successful trader by using their software for $5,000.

Here's their website:
http://www.welcomeplace.ca/site/

In my opinion, it sounds too good to be true, though i'm sure it's doable, but it just sounds shady.

They countered that they have been in the business for 8 years, and have been at the same location for that whole time and have no plans on leaving.

Anyone ever hear of this place? If you trade forex, what are your thoughts?

Yup Wilton will surely be all over this, telling you it's sh*t and that he trades millions in any given hour of the day.

You can make a lot of money in FOREX, but you may also lose everything within minutes. There's no guarantees once you begin investing.
You may get a free FOREX account (google it) and play with it for a month or two. Forex will give you FREE account and FAKE $ to dabble in the market. Get the idea how the market works before forking out $20,000.

Good luck

I didn't see anything about them managing your money, all I saw was them trying to sell a trading course and software (although I didn't spend tons of time on it, the site is quite busy)

If there was a way to guarantee 24-36% per year return from financial markets, everyone would be doing it. It's a scam (or at the very least, they are playing on words and not really guaranteeing the return)

At that rate of return you should ask them to lend you money at 20% / year interest that they can deduct from your "profits". That way you wont have to invest anything and they'll still give you money. Win-win.

BTW, at this rate of return, $100,000 will turn into $40 million in just 20 years, or $1 billion in 31 years. So I can give them $100,000 now and retire a billionaire? How are they "guaranteeing" the return? Is it just their word or do they actually give you any asset to hold on to in case they go Bernie Madoff on you.

Run, dont walk.

That was my opinion as well that it seems almost like a Ponzi scheme.

Everything i've ever researched about forex is that very few actually consistently make money and that most people end up losing but I wanted to see if anyone else had any experience with this company or similar organizations.
