Thanks!

It appears the contractors don't agree with the recommendation of keeping off the asphalt for at least 7 days as suggested by this website since their vehicles were on the driveways less than 24 hours after putting them in.

Just a notice to all homeowners, now that the topsoil is being put, please take a look around your house to make sure that there is no damage, the reason I am posting this is because I noticed that our vent pipe to the water heater was broken. Luckily later in the evening when i went down to the basement, I was getting the smell of gas. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the vent pipe was dislodged from the water heater and all the exhaust air was being circulated in the basement. This may be a rare one, but all the same doesnt hurt to check and have a look around.

That's nasty. Good idea to check outside AC units as well.

Hello Kincardine Terrace neighbours!
All properties on Coombs Crt. have been certified by the town of Milton, which means we are free to put up fences.
Even though the Intracorp lots adjacent to north side Coombs Crt. are not certified yet, we could definitely build together our back fences now and then finish your left and right once your grading approval is complete.
Picket Fence will be coming down on Thursday, July 26 at 6 PM to provide fence options and pricing. Meeting place is on the inner Coombs Crt. north side, 3rd house away from Savoline (BBQ and beige/light green umbrella on the deck).
See you Thursday!

Almost always beside the thermostat, sometimes near the furnace.

NOTE - I bumped into this comment ( above in quote ) that I made while searching for something else and would like to change it.

I have since seen the HRV control that Intracorp is using and it has no automatic settings IE some controls will turn the HRV ON or OFF because some controls automatically monitor humidity levels etc., but Intracorp is using a manual control ( which I prefer ) but they are installing them at or above the furnace. This location for this particular control is not suitable as it should be relocated at it's intended location, near the thermostat.

Because this control is manual, people use it regularly, turning the HRV ON when they cook or turning it UP if the home feels stale. Turning it OFF when they have finished cooking etc. Having this control down at the furnace is therefore a very poor location.

If you are in an Intracorp home with an HRV and the HRV control similar to the image is down by the furnace then you should insist that it be relocated near the thermostat. Going down and up the stairs, to and from the basement to control this system is very inconvenient making this HRV feature more of a burden than a benifit.

I tried to have them move it but builder insisted this is where they place it when they already have a fan switch installed near the thermostat (as per code). Not ideal but eventually I can likely just move it myself...

You can inform them that the "fan switch" by the thermostat is absolutely NOT required (as per code ) when the home has an HRV. Besides, the fact that the switch is there has nothing to do with whether or not the HRV control can be relocated to the thermostat. In other words, they are just making excuses.

You should put it on your one year list.

Intracorp is doing a fine job but for them to expect homeowners to go down to the furnace every time they want to change a setting of the HRV is dumb.

One more point - Now that you have pointed out how poor their set up is for you, they will no doubt ponder how they do this. The end result will be that in the furture they will likely be locating the HRV control beside the thermostat where it belongs.

Hi Sunshine_girl and Doil7777

I spoke with the retail area owners The Durante Group a few months ago and they were looking to build possibly sometime in 2014/15 depending on the retail interest. I understand from them that the gas station area could be in phase two of the project depending on the mix of tenants. Here is the staff report and site plan that was approved by Council in 2011.

http://www.milton.ca/MeetingDocuments/C ... emaine.pdf

The Scott neighbourhood park (between Tremaine & Savoline) tender is projected to be approved by Council on April 29th (see the attached link) with construction scheduled to start in May and completed this fall with opening possibly next spring depending on the grass and vegetation growth.

http://milton.ca/en/townhall/resources/ ... sTable.pdf

Here is the park plan that was approved by council last fall.

http://www.milton.ca/en/play/SherwoodDistrictPark.asp

The District park plan for the large area on the north side of Main St. W. between Savoline and Scott Blvd. is still being designed with parks staff anticipating the first public meeting later this spring for comments on 2-3 proposed designs which will be refined after the public meeting into a preferred design which will be presented to council later in the year for 2014 construction.

Will be posting more information in the general section of the forum as soon as it becomes available.

Your welcome Doil7777.

No information yet on the Catholic elementary school, All they need from the Town is a building permit from staff and no council involvement as all the zoning and servicing is in place. They should be applying for it soon for construction to start later this year. Will post as soon as I see the monthly report which you can see notable projects at www.milton.ca under building permit statistics which notes the number and type of permits issued each month. The school board can tell you more details from their website www.hdcsb.org on the design and details as councillors are not involved in that process.

Hi Sarah and Brent

Welcome to the neighbourhood! I spoke to the owners of the commercial property and they are looking at construction sometime in 2015 after they make further arrangements with potential tenants.

The Community centre & District Park public meeting should be held sometime in 2014 for a mix of uses on the large vacant lot on the north side of Main St, W. between Scott Blvd. and the creek valley. Anticipated opening possibly in 2016 pending budget approvals of the design.

The section of Main St. W. between Scott Blvd. and Bronte St. will be under construction next spring including widening the intersection at Main & Bronte including advanced left hand turns in all directions.

Also don't forget the Milton Santa Claus Parade will be assembling the parade on Main St. W. between Scott and Savoline Blvd. with the street closed between 12 noon and 3 pm this Sunday November 17th. Check www.miltonsantaclausparade.ca for details.
