Family Matters in Milton is proud to introduce to you, two young ladies who are trying to make a difference in our community. As featured in Family Matters in Milton Winter Issue, Emilia and Lauren, will be hitting the streets of Hawthorne Village to share a Christmas Carol with you. In exchange they have partnered up with Milton's Salvation Army Food Bank to collect a food donation from you. The girls have been given a kettle from The Salvation Army for your generous cash donations as an alternative.

Family Matters thanks you in advance for your support and generosity.

I don't personally like answering doors to solicitators and have a sign for that, but I will donate to the food bank on my own at some later this month as I always do every X-Mas.

I believe tonight they will be covering Mc Neil Dr to Storey, and over to Ferguson. Their moms will be with them as well to help fill the trunk with your food donations. If you would like them to collect from you, just name your street.

Why don't they go stand in front of No Frills or Metro or City Hall and sing?
They would probably draw a crowd rather than interupt a families dinner.
They sound sweet. Knocking on doors is asking to experience the bad element of society. Especially when half the population does not celebrate Christmas, they're going to be bummed out within an hour.

That's a great idea and I believe there has been some talk of that also. They did this last year "just for fun" and has a great response. People tried to give them money and they refused. They had a blast though..
This year they have decided to take it to another level.

I don't answer my door if there's no pre-arranged appointment booked...I don't care who it is.

There are some great people in Milton...the girls were very well received when they were doing it just because...I would imagine that doing it for a cause would get an even bigger response..or so they are hoping..

Not sure if it was them or not but we had some girls come carol at our door last year and refused the money that we offered.......Gotta admit it was pretty cool to see.
