You could do it by yourself. If you don't know where to point the dish, use the website dishpointer.com. Enter your address in there and pick the bird you would like to shoot. It will show you the elevation and azimuth. You could even adjust the location of the dish on that site.

To adjust the dish, all you need is a small tv and your receiver tuning on the sat you would like to point with the correct transponder setting. Signal and quality would show up once you hit the correct bird.

It's a nice "Do it by yourself" project.

Just to give you an idea of the cost of the hardwares:

I used to install it myself in my old house, exactly how you described. But im older now and Id rather just give someone $150 and be done with it.

I used this guy 3 years ago and he installed at my roof. It was RedFalg special $250 including material and Labour. My OTA is still working Flawless and I am getting more than 20 channels. Please check RedFlag deal forum to see if you can get any group deal.

This guy is slow to respond but the workmedship is excellent.

Thank you for your compliment and we are glad that your OTA system is working flawlessly after 3 years. In addition to our retail store located at 505 Pinegrove Rd. in Oakville, we are able to install any type of legal satellite system including Shaw Direct, Bell TV, Ku-band FTA, C-band FTA and HITS TV. We are also authorised dealers for Shaw Direct and HITS TV satellite TV services and a searchable database of available channels on these services is available on our website.

Due to the superior quality of our installations, we are able to offer a 1 year warranty for parts & labour on all of our installations and we are fully insured. The best way to contact us is by phone at 416-301-8SAT or visiting us at our Oakville store.

We are glad to be part of the Hawthorne Villager community and are able to answer any satellite related questions on this forum that members may have.

Best regards,

How much you charge for OTA complete installation?

Pricing for our OTA locals installation packages are listed at http://otalocals.drsat.ca
The most common installation option is the J-Pipe mounted antenna which is $400 + HST if converting from satellite or cable and the existing RG6 cabling from outside going in the house can be reused. This includes a professionally installed and aligned Channel Master 4221HD antenna or equivalent (i.e. CM2016) mounted near the peak of the roof and cabling from the antenna joined to the existing cabling along with a grounding block if it doesn't already exist.

If the existing RG6 coax can't be used then we would charge an extra $50 to run a new coax inside your home with a single wall penetration. All installations feature a 1 year warranty on parts and labor at no extra cost.

Best regards,
