My son will be 5 yrs old in a few months and has been asking for piano lessons. He has taught himself the scale, twinkle twinkle little star, middle C, and what all the symbols on sheet music mean. I would have put him in last Sept, but we can not afford the school in Mississauga I wanted to put him in (Merriam Music), plus it is far. I was wondering if there are any piano music schools in Milton that teach GROUP piano for children, or if anyone has any experience with a modern school that is not overly expensive that they recommend - something fun and child based - not simply classical, traditional, and serious.

Thanks,
Christina

That’s pretty good progress for a self taught 5 year old.

Your best bet would be the Merriam school in Oakville. Pick a date you go Costco shopping and enroll him on that day.

At this age, I would recommend group lessons and not in home individual lessons. He will learn more by seeing other kids play.

Among Milton schools, I haven’t found a good one.
