Question to all those that bought new, did they release all the lots all at once? If not, was there any logic to the release schedule?

Also, what type of premium did you have to pay for a lot backing out to a park?

Thanks!

All the lots backing onto the ravine facing the park in HVOP Phase 3 were at least 50k. Those were all 42' and 50' lots though.

How much is a 1500 sq ft town likely to go for?

My wife and I have been looking at purchasing in the Milton area, and recently fell in love with Hawthorne Village. The idea of a new home really interests us, and heard that Mattamy will be opening up a new phase in the next few months. Does anyone know anything about this?

As indicated by previous posts, Mattamy has applied to build on 429 lots on the the James Snow site and 279 on the Bronte site. Whether or not they release for sale all those at the same time is probably dependent on demand but gauging by the activity on the James Snow development, it looks like they might be doing this as the interest by people who register on their site gives them a good idea. If it is a typical release, you will see line ups outside the sales office in order to make an appointment. I purchased in Aug of 2010 and pandemonium broke out in the line up as people camped out for several days prior to the sales release and Mattamy has since taken steps to hopefully make it a more civilized process.

Could you please explain how Mattamy will make it more civilized?

instead of lining up to buy, now they email 100 people at a time to come and book an appointment to buy at a later date... they do this over the course of a few days...

so instead of the early bird gets the worm, its now lottery dependant whether or not you are lucky enough to be on the first email that goes out so you can go buy the limited amount of pie lots, corner units, ravine lots etc.

Interesting, how did you hear about this new purchasing method?

i know people that ran over there when they got the email last year and were number 88 in line. and they went right when they got it at 9am. So there are still lineups, just not overnight camping...

Any idea how their Email system is set up? By alphabet, by the date you signed up, or completely random?

Does the pricing get released when emails start coming out or do you have to wait until your appointment to see it?

Not true. I purchased the last phase in HVOTP Phase 5A and 6 in 2012 and it was still first come first serve.

I think they like the hype so it drive up interest.

They might make it a little different this time by line up to get an appointment but regardless there's still going to be a line. I don't think they will turn you down if you show up in line to make an appointment to purchase.

I was referring to no overnight camping. I mentioned the line wait after you get the email as well.

Oh OK.

I did get the email and had to do the camping out again for both phase 5A and 6. Both phase were sold out over one weekend.

This release will be big again and it's going to be another riot. The James Snow location is going to be hot!
