Because is on the east side closest to the highway and around all the stores. The other locations is backing onto the tracks.

Sorry Milton Leo.

The property north of the Halton Waste Management Site is owned by CN Rail which owns 1100 acres on the south side of Britannia from Regional road #25 west to Tremaine Road and south to near Burnhamthorpe Road on both sides of the rail line and they have requested both the Town and Region to have the lands in Strategic Employment areas as part of both Official Plans up to the year 2031 which the Province in their review removed. CN is requesting consideration of the lands for industrial and employment uses as part of the 5 year official plan review in 2016.

The majority of planned residential areas south of Britannia road in the Sustainable Halton area are between Thompson road and 5th line and follow the proposed route of James Snow Parkway south to the #407 interchange. At the present rate of home construction this are may not be built till after 2023. Check www.halton.ca under the official plan for maps and details.

Hi Colin,

Do you know what is the plan for the land between Derry x Tremaine AND Dymott x Tremaine? looks like it is a farming land and not being used by Education village.

Where to look for this kind of planning info?

Thanks.

You mean west of tremaine between Derry and dymott? That's the niagars reserve and is protected from being built upon, if I'm not mistaken.
There's no land to build between Derry and dymott on the east side of tremaine.

Back to the release, anyone have an idea when the release will go on sale?

Hi Chimebell

Lylesback2 is partly right. Only the first farm south of Derry road on the west side for the first 400 metres is in the Niagara Escarpment Commission rural area which only allows existing uses which means no development ever.

The remaining properties south to Britannia road, west to the half lot line or forest area half way between Tremaine and Bell School Line are part of the Milton Education Village Secondary Plan which is dependent on the Provincial government approving a post-secondary campus on the Town's 150 acre portion of the 450 acre plan area. (see attached link)

http://www.milton.ca/en/build/MEVSecondaryPlan.asp

There are a number of other uses planned for the area but it could take a number of years as the Ministry of Colleges and Universities is still reviewing the Laurier University application for an initial 3000 student campus which even if approved would take about 3 years to build.

Lylesback2, the new Mattamy releases have been held up due to the delay in the allocation program at the Region which was not fully subscribed by builders for the full 8500 home plan for this area and the first phase of the Boyne Survey south of Louis St. Laurent. I understand from staff that the builders are working out some details with the Town and Region to possibly release these homes later in the year for the Patterson property. Keep checking the Mattamy website for more details.
