just cause you pay a lot for stuff doesn't mean it's the best.....i feel sorry for people that get suckered into buy technology based off the "cool" factor

These recent acquisitions we've been hearing about, like What's App going for 15 Billion, sound insane till you look at the numbers and see what these enormously large companies plan on doing with the start ups and companies they are buying to better their own products and services, then they are not so insane in many cases outside of the sticker shock.

My phone comes with Beats Audio and when I plug it into my car, I think it sounds great. At least noticicly better than my former phone that did not have it. But granted, I'm like the rest of the general polulace - not an audiophile.

No device is perfect, but I find my iphone, ipad, macbook, and apple TV to be a great solution for me. They all integrate together very nicely and do exactly what I need them to. There might be a cheaper solution out there, but the premium paid for the zero-dicking-around-required factor is worth it to me.

#hatersgonnahate

i guess if u own everything Apple and ur knee deep and willing to pay for it.. then i guess it does work... but there are cheaper solutions like u said that do the zero-clicking-around-require factor...

i copied most of my post from a blog post i found ; > hence the hashtags...

really? that price?

my Audio-Technica ATH-M50's were $120 and they out perform the Beats Studios by a MILE!!
Any Sennheiser headphones outperform Beats

and forgive me for saying it but even BOSE out perform Beats..

i would put BEATS in the same category as those annoying people putting in crazy subwoofers in their cars and driving around making their license plates rattle... FYI it does not sound GOOD!

but i guess i should stop hating.. people have their preferences of what sounds good... and what devices work for them ; >

i just thought it was funny that Apple would buy Beats .. the top two products that are overpriced and perform at sub par levels.

good marketing + good packaging = Apple and Beats

I don;t think it had to do with the beats in your HTC (i;m assuming it's HTC)... if u plug in new devices these days it'll give you better sound driven by software.. i bet if u plug in the new HTC M8 that doesn't have BEATS it'll sound better then your HTC M7...

there's a reason why HTC was willing to take an almost 50% loss by buying and selling Beats...

We're at a point where everything "just works" no matter what environment you choose to roll with. Apple, Andriod, Windows...etc. There's always going to be a small segement of users who are more advanced than others; who can tell the small differences between Bose, Beats and whatever else is on the shelves these days, but the truth is, to the dumb masses (myself included) once you get whatever brand you've chosen home they all work just fine - Cuase they are virtually all the same at this point.

What we all suffer from is brand insecurity. The need to feel as though you've made the smartest choice in what you went with. That's why there are so many brand arguments all over the interent.

"My Apple has a 1.2 GHZ processor!"

"Oh yeah? Well my android has a 1.1 processor - but its coupled it with a dual core thingie."

"Oh yeah... well mine has..."

And on and on we go.

Maybe you should buy a quality device and you won't have to replace them every six months ; >

So true. My Windows laptops each lasted me one year. Bought my macbook pro, had it two years and have zero desire or need for an upgrade.

You get what you pay for.

Apple didnt buy them out for their advanced technology, or stellar innovative manufacturing. They bought the brand name.

haha good one...

but i don;t feel like giving the phone companies what they want... i haven't signed a contract in 6 years... and if you keep your phone for more then 2 years then kudos to you cause i'm a tech junkie that needs the latest and greatest ... i need to be able to code my own hacks, change preferences beyond what the device lets me.. android is a resource hog and probably not as optimized as iOS but it's SURE is hell of a lot less restrictive!

i sell my phones for top dollar cause they are only 6 months old.. and that gives me the money to buy the latest model full price with no loss usually.. if anything $50-100 bux out of pocket.. so technically i am paying LESS then you when you sign a 2-3 year contract where ur licking the balls of the carriers paying them $250+tax and activation + your monthly bill...oh wait they let you upgrade whenever you want now!!! well that's such a scam cause you gotta pay an UPGRADE FEE of $20 per month left on your contract then the price of the discounted phone price which will then osts you just as much as the phone at full price AND you have to sign a contract!! funny funny... didn't poeple know Rogers Retention used to let you upgrade whenver you wanted if you complained enough with no upgrade fees...

with no contract i can leave Rogers whenever i want.. and being with them the last 15 years since high school when they were Rogers AT&T so my plan is pretty sweet.. ..it sucks that Rogers doesn't have internet in Milton cause having everything with them was a bonus..

and yah Apple has good build quality... but their User Experience is HORRIBLE!! the fact that u can't use your device as a mass storage device and drag and drop files into and out of the built in memory (cause they don't have expandable memory) without itunes is just ridiculous... so i don't consider that a quality device all around.. just cause it looks nice and feels nice doesn't mean it does what a user wants..

but maybe some folks are satisfied with apps, a 4 inch screen (if u have the 5 or 5s) or a 3.5 in screen, low resolution compared to anything else out there.. and buying adapters to make sure they work with every other universal product out there... lightning adapter?? seriously? that's just Apple saying "hey this is our way of tricking you to make sure you CANNOT use any other companies charging cables and have to pay $30 for it form us to get a proper one that won't fry your phone"

so i'll enjoy my new device every 6 months contract free and looking forward to the next model in another 6 months.

/rant
