That's what I thought too but when we bought in September, they told us Coates Crossing/Common was done. They said they were selling for the Escarpment phase only now but lately people are coming on this forum saying they JUST bought and they are in the Coates Crossing/Common area.

There is going to be a Phase 14c and 15b released at some point in the Cotes Common area. You can see the area on the map marked as "future residential" in the sales office.

Mike here from "Christine&Mike" above. My wife posted that earlier today, and we saw the add in one of the New Homes and Condos free magazines they have.

I'll try and find a link somewhere....

Mattamy Homes’ Hawthorne Village on the Escarpment community will soon be home to a new release of 46-ft. WideLot homes and homes on 50-ft. lots. Currently, you will find detached Main Street Homes that offer two-car garages, front porches, roof terraces, large back decks, spacious balconies, and the potential for an in-law suite on the ground floor (as per plan)

We at Hawthorne Village Public School are keeping our fingers crossed that the development south of Louis St. Laurent does not happen for a long time! We cannot handle the number of kids that are arriving now.
Our secretary spoke to someone at Mattamy about a month ago, and was told that they had no plans to develop there for at least five years. That doesn't mean that another builder won't though.

Does anyone know about the exact date for the release of phase 2 of the escarpment? I emailed Mattamy and they didn't reply!

Hi daycaremom
The plans for any development south of Louis St. laurent Blvd. which is called Phase 3 or the Boyne Survey will not be after 2011 or when 75% of the 13,000 homes being built in the Sherwood survey on th west side of Town are completed.

Check the Town web site milton.ca and scroll down the alpha list to Official Plan check the maps gallery for the urban expansion map and you can see where all three areas are located.

If you are interested in schooling issues attend the Halton District School Board Strategic Plan meeting on Thursday April 12th at the Hawthorne Village school (check Friday's Champion for details) for future school locations and programs.

Thanks Colin.
I have been religiously following, and actively participating in the Boards plans for the past four years. There are plans for a fourth school to be built in the area as well as a high school, but I am told that both are currently held up in OMB hearings and the completion dates have been pushed back. Do you know anything about that?
I will be at the meeting at Hawthorne. It would be nice to see some representation from the Town at one of these for once. ??

Hi daycaremom
Thanks for the response. What OMB hearings are you refering to? I am the Vice-Chair of the Town's Planning and Administration Committee and to my knowledge there is no hearings regarding any development south of Derry Road that would affect schools. All the developments in the Sherwood Survey of the first phase of 5000 homes were approved by the Town and OMB in 2005 only the individual developments have to be approved for servicing and zoning.

The Coates Crossing school should be built for a September 2008 opening to keep up with that area development and the first school in the Sherwood Survey should be open in 2010. Check with Donna Danielli the Milton trustee for further details. I will be there with the maps of the approved areas in both the Bristol and Sherwood Survey to make sure the School Board officials are up to date with the Town.

Donna Danielli is the one that told me the site for the 4th public school in Milton (the board refers to it as Mattamy Lai), as well as the site for the High School are held up in OMB hearings.
Both schools should be built in the Thompson rd. and Louis St. Laurent area.

Glad to hear that you will be attending and participating in the meeting.
I will check out the site you suggested.

If you sign up on Mattamy's website for "preview registration" they send you these in emails giving you advance notice before they update their website.
