Makes sense though. Why waste a vote if you have no idea who you're voting for? You could be voting in a completely incompetent fool just for the sake of voting. Voting isn't a right meant to just waste, it's meant for you to make an informed decision on shaping the country. Randomly picking someone isn't really accomplishing anything other than maybe giving you a warm fuzzy feeling that you contributed to democracy.

Or maybe instead of encouraging apathy, you could learn about the candidates and make an informed choice? Or do you have an objection to informed choices?

Isn't that obvious? Maybe if I use smaller words:

If you don't know who to vote for, don't vote. If you want to vote, learn about the candidates. That's the best way to shape the country. Step 1: understand what you wnat. Step 2: who'se offering what you want? Step 3: Get in the car Step 4: Drive to election office. Step 5: Vote.

Comprendé?

Dude! Stop trying so hard to be Prickly Pete or NotHawthorny. I'm sure somebody somewhere will like you for who you are. I don't even feel insulted. I just kinda feel sorry for you. Like I should give you a hug or something for trying.

Dude! Stop constantly twisting my posts into something they're not trying to cause a stink! I figured the only way to break it down for you (in case you do misinterpret my posts as you appear to) is to use smaller words and be even more specific. If it was the first time I would have let it go.

Where in my post did I say I object to making an informed choice?

But a few of you on here are wanna-be trolls and apparently don't like being called out. Grow a pair and own it if you're gonna do it.

Happy Friday.

Exactly. Just ask one if they pay attention to polls. If they say NO, then sadly, they are liars.

There are rumours going around that Zeeshan circulated a letter in Ward 8 which encouraged residents to not vote if they were unsure about who to vote for since there were so many new names. I say rumours because I haven't seen the letter and I understand it's coming from an unsuccessful candidate. DOn't know if anyone can shed some insight on that. If it is true, then it's disappointing because encouraging people to not vote serves only the incumbent (Zeeshan) and really he should be encouraging people to learn about the candidates and the process.

Zeeshan - I dont mean to throw shade at you but the talk is out there and given this thread, maybe you should address it?

Nope, no truth to it. Perhaps you can ask the said unsuccessful candidate to find proof? Surely, if I did such a thing then someone must have received it, right?

I never got one.

Why would Abubaqr be spreading this rumour? He wasn't even running in the same race as Zeeshan.

No, you're Leopard. Kind of depressing that Princess Beata doesn't exist. It's weird thinking that it's probably a random guy sitting at his computer. I enjoyed picturing this short, prissy hispanic* woman wearing nothing but knock-offs (that she says are the real deal) with a permanent scowl on her face, shrieking at price matchers.

Because he's a member of the Milton Federal Liberal Association and backing another candidate?

It's a damn shame the federal Liberals have such a terrible leader, because I like Zeeshan almost enough to vote liberal. Almost.

I thought the federal Liberals leader was the chosen one? You have to vote for him or he’ll leave you behind when he transforms humanity into pure energy!

Your totally underestimating the ability of the government to screw up legalization.

They’ll regulate it somehow, to protect “the children”, and we’ll have something stupid and ridiculous setup to manage a simple product. Think “The Beer Store”.

I don’t know how it will manifest exactly. I only know that they will loose all ability to profit from it, it will be run by crooks, and it will suck only slightly less then outright prohibition we have now.

But people the world over will idolize him for all eternity, so it’s all he really needs to do to be a hero. Forget that he’ll probably screw up everything else that matters like these douche bags we have running Ontario. Legalize pot and build a windmill and nobody will give a crap what you destroy to get there.

I would never vote liberal. They will re-classify a lot of firearms, making some of my stuff un sellable and therefore worthless.

Don’t we have that already? The status quo in Canada is hardly an NRA paradise.

Yeah? Try and get a permit to carry a concealed weapon and let me know how that works out.

I get what your saying... but I think the laws shaped the culture on this one, not the other way around.

I'm not complaining, I think it's a great thing. But not voting Liberal over guns? I can see that if your a farmer, but in this neck of the woods there are just SOOOO many better reasons not to vote for them.

If certain items that I have legally acquired had their classifications changed, they would loose their value and sale ability. I have an item that was purchased by me that cost $1100, it was reclassified last year and can now longer be sold. Therefore valueless. Imagine if with a stroke of legislation, you lost 50k of your net worth? Voting liberal and thir proposed changes to firearms classifications, would hurt my pocket book immediately.

Our laws are tough and fair.

Not 1 person was shot today in this country with any one of the nearly 2,000,000 firearms.
