okay- so I have tried a few online maps and and see on this discussion board that not all roads lead to 401 and like with most things in life some are things are better than the other.

So here is the question- WHat is the fastest way to get to 401 going towards Mississauga. I am hoping to hear from experinced folks... may be take xx that xx road till xx there xx and then enter 401.

I am very close to Hawthrone village public school

I do Derry to Trafalgar to the 401....have been since I moved to Hawthorne Village in April.

I have tried the Thompson to Main to James Snow......but Thompson seems to get booged down in the morning....

There is also the option of Derry East, straight into Mississauga, depending on where you're actually going, but for me, so far.....

Derry EAST to Trafalgar......Trafalgar NORTH to the 401......

Hope this helps you !

Peter

Depends on how far East you need to go, Britannia through Streetsville is like trying to push an elephant through straw. Not fun :(

Alternatively Lower Base Line becomes Eglington...

Agreed, Derry east to Trafalgar, north to 401, then East on the 401.

It really depends on where in Mississauga you are planning on going though.

Traffic may not be so good later this summer though, when Derry starts to be under construction for widening from James Snow, east to Ninth Line.

Also, work will be starte on Trafalgar at the CPR crossing, sometime soon, which may slow down traffic as well.

Luckily by then, James Snow should be open from Britannia Rd north to Main Street to allow much faster access to the 401.

What is the major intersection you are going to in Mississauga??

I know every back road in Milton and I even amazed my wife last Tuesday by shaving off quite a lot of time getting to and from Square one with my dazzeling shortcuts......

I have to exit at Dixie road......

BTW I took 401 from Derry to Trafalgar today morning and it was good. While I was at Derry I think I was the only one that was turning left towards 401k and the big line was straight along Dixie and not turning to Trafalgar into 401. wonder what was going on.
