As a volunteer member of the Milton Leash Free organization, are also accepting donations of any form ($, bottles) for our new Leash Free Park in Milton!

Construction is well underway south of the train tracks on 4th Line and Main. The park will have two designated areas - one for large breed and one for small breed dogs. We are asking for as much help as we can get. I will gladly pick up any bottle donations from you.

Construction Season has begun!
The ground is broken and the contractors are working. Finally, it’s happening! You will all be happy to know that included in our build is:

- paved, lighted, parking for 30 vehicles
- complete fencing with double gates leading to a large common area and also to a smaller "alternate area for dogs or people who cannot or do not wish to use the common area
-a small fenced children's area for the safety of young visitors
- park benches & trash receptacles
- some trees

Although the construction is expected to wrap up in June it will take time to allow the grass to grow well enough to use the park fully. We expect to have partial use this summer in order to allow the majority of the grounds to become established. Once the ground is frozen we expect to have full us all winter.

We will see what the spring brings. Complete closure for a few weeks until it dries out – or- Rotating area closures with fences.. To be determined….

At this time we are looking for:

- volunteers to empty trash receptacles on a regular basis
- donations of a small children's climber or ride-on toys
- a decent wheelbarrow to make garbage collection easier
- a volunteer with a ride-on mower to cut our grass later this summer.
- volunteers to participate in our Bottle Drive, Saturday, July 7.

Bottle Drive
Mark your Calander for Sat July 7th for the big bottle drive to fund the building of our sun / rain shelter.

Times and locations are yet to be determined.

But stay tuned and we will post the details.

Hello everyone,

Well, the construction is well underway and the time has come to organize the volunteers for the bottle drive in July. As you know fundraising is a big part of the park. We are raising money for Insurance, Signage, Maintenance tools, Storage Shed, More Trees , Message Board etc.....

We are looking for volunteers to come out and help with the bottle drive, We need sorters, canvassers a couple people to return them to the beer store and a couple people to man the donation tables on the beer store grounds..

We are expecting to need at least 20-30 people and as many vehicles as possible. If you cannot be there you could do a " mini collection" on your own and donate the money, Last year we raised 800.00 in one evening... Great Success.

Lets do it again ! If you are able and willing please let us know and we will forward details later of where we will be meeting to sort the bottles.

Hello Guys!

I have created a group on Facebook.com called Milton Leash Free Park where we can chat and post pics of our pups. It would be nice to see some familiar faces when the park does in fact open.
