Hey Guys, I'm looking for some good places close by to go fishing.
I'm heading to Kelso on the weekend to check out the scene, but are there any other ones that you recommend?

Conrad

I'm not sure if it is stocked, or just has fish, but I see a lot of people fishing in the Mill Pond at Martin/Mill St in town. I'm sure your not going to land the big one, but if you have young kids who you just want to take fishing without committing a great amount of travel to the endeavor, it seems like a popular place.

I've seen tons of signs for this place:

Never been, since I don't fish, so can't tell you if it's any good.

The kit kat convience store at Main & 25 has dew worms.

And yes the Mill pond has rainbow trout in it. They stock it for the kids fishing derby in the spring.

The rivers around have wild steelhead

So I got my dew worms from the Kit Kat Convience (thanks Tim).

Went to Kelso today, but not too impressed with the fishing.
Didn't have any bites what so ever... I saw 3 small trout and 2 large trout in the water, but they didn't seem interested in my worms, flies, lures or corn. Ah well....

I will be trying a few other places in the coming weeks.

Salmon/trout is good on Niagara river, which is only one hour away.
Halton conservation web site has good info for places to go fishing near by.
