Is anyone thinking of extending their driveway to accomodate 2 cars on the driveway??? I understand Mattamy would not pave the extended portion but this is something we can do later....

In the town of Milton, it is illegal to extend (widen) your driveway beyond what's approved by the town on the initial plan. The town would not approve any driveway widening and that's a fact you have to live with (at least until the next municipal election).

Hi there,

We were lucky, our 36' model came standard with a double car garage. I have seen however, homes with extended pavement, even on existing two car garage homes - they take over part of the grass for extra driveway space. As mentioned, it may just be finding out how strict the Town of Milton will be.

Good Luck,

Cassandra

That's true. I've seen some of this around too. However, when I went to the city to complain about a parking ticket I got (long story) they were aware of the situation and soon could start ticketing cars parked this way. I'm not sure if those tickets would be legal but they might as well change the bylaw to make them legal, the same way they are trying to change the bylaw to make boulevard parking illegal.

So I guess you either take your chances or live with it Trini :(

I'm sure you'll come up with something!

Thanks Cassandra but no way shall I take a chance.....It was just a thought since we saw a lot of our current house - neighborhood driveways were extended.

we are thinking about an interlocking brick walk-way.
Really elegant (futur plan...)

If you want some ideas on how to do it,
Drive around the Mattamy phases. Some people
did really great "extension" on their drive-ways.

Maybe Tim should post some pics to give everyone some ideas!
