We closed 2 years ago this past Feb. We did not get central Vac but we had it roughed into the garage.
I just bought a central Vac on the weekend. one outlet had really bad noise and I did not think the suction was that great. After bracketing where the noise was I made 3 holes in the wall. The electrician drilled through the 2x4 stud, ripped into the Central Vac pipe, pulled his wire and just left the looney size hole in my pipe.

If you get a frame walk, make sure you check your central vac pipe just below knee level especially if there is electrical run near it.

I am hoping the nice people at Mattamy will fix the pipe and patch my drywall.

Matt

Here is another tip for your doors.

We have lived here for just under 1 year. Went to order a sectional sofa for the 5th bedroom upstairs (still use as dad's TV room and guests can still sleep over).

Only one problem.....nothing will fit through the 30 inch doorway that they framed in on all of the bedrooms upstairs (apart from the master).

Is this a standard size? I would gladly have paid extra to have 32" or even 34" doors upstairs.

Signed Blindsided 1 year later......

I forgot to post an update. Seems I am quick to post the negative but not the positive. Mattamy came by and within 3 days the pipe was fixed and the drywall repaired.

once again I have had great service from Mattamy. They have always taken care of my family well beyond my expectations.

Matt
