A lot of lawyers won't charge extra to review the contract if you're getting them to handle all the necessary legal stuff for the move, so why not take advantage of it?

It was quick in and out. I was able to find out during the process that all phase 4 exterior color scheme will be offered to phase 5 as well. Therefore, if you go into the sales office, you can ask to see them before they call you for your exterior colors selection. I've also found out that if your living room or Great room is connected to your kitchen (open concept), you will get smooth ceiling instead of popcorn ceiling instead. So we have finalize the deal with Wood Lily elevation C, all I have to do now is to save up for the extra $50K I went over from the original budget

When did you book your home, as we're still waiting for a call to come in and sign a contract. As well, our kitchen/family room is open concept so i'm glad to hear about the ceiling.

We booked ours in early Feb. They will call you soon if you are in phase 5A.

That is awesome! Congrats!!

Did you have your contact looked at before you signed the deal? We haven't yet and are wondering if we HAVE to sign when we go in tonight ... because we would like to have a lawyer look over it.

All the paper work was the same as what you got when you signed the pre purchase agreement, so I don't think you need your lawyer to look over it. However, you will need to cap your levy and closing cost. If your lawyer haven't fax over to cap those fees, you get them to do it there. Also you will need to let them know if you want the security service with Voxcom or not at the signing. Other than that, it was very quick and painless.

Do you need a Lawyer to have Mattamy cap those costs? or can you just go there and let them know that you want those certain items capped?

You don't need a lawyer to cap those fees, they will tell you if it's acceptable or not. Also they no longer remove the clause where they can bump up the the closing date. However, by the looks of things I don't thing they are bumping any but delaying closing dates.

Go have a look at your exterior color selections after the signing and find out if you are the first to pick on your street. Take some pictures of the color scheme for us Wood Lily and post it here, I brought my camera phone but the pictures came out crappy.

Hi all,

Andrea here, I bought January 27, and got the call today at work to come in to sign. I am not going until Monday at Noon. I am excited and a bit nervous. It will be fine.

Chris and Mira,
How did it go tonight with the signing?

We got our call Friday evening and we're going in tonight at 6pm to sign our contract. Can't wait to finally make this official.
