We noticed in our schedule A doc that casement windows are only installed at the front of the house, and side/rear windows will either be single hung or sliders.

Can anyone confirm if it's possible to upgrade all windows to casement, and would you have an approximate per-window upgrade price?

Thank you.

Thanks, winjack!

We didn't realize it would be bottom-line priced by model vs. per window. That makes sense actually, but is still a bit disappointing since we were hoping to put our upgrades budget together in the next month or so. We don't close until late 2009 so probably won't get a price from the design centre for eons.

Thanks again for your reply.

Really? Man, you are LUCKY.

We're in phase 5A. I just went back and checked the schedule A and we get those awful horizontal sliders everywhere except at the front. :(

Hey there,

You mentioned that you are in Phase 5A...have they contacted you yet to finalize the contract? or are they still waiting for land approval?

Hi Ponte24. Yep, they got the approvals ... we'll be signing the final purchase agreement this weekend. We only got our call last night though, so they're probably just working their way down the list.

Seems so official now ... hard to believe we still have 18 months before we close. I hope it goes quickly!!!

We got the call last night! I am going in on Friday to seal the deal!

We went in yesterday night to finalize our purchase agreement and found out that we have casement throughout the house because it's an Energy Star home. We purchase phase 5A and it's a 36' home. :D

Do you know if that is true for all 5A Energy STAR homes?

It should say on your schedule A.

AWESOME!! Thank you so much for posting this, rrknight. I'm so happy now. :-)

Maybe it was just a mistake in their schedule A; we're a 43' energy star so should be casement too then.

If it's in your schedule A, you should verify that at the sales office. On my schedule A listed Casement throughout and I verified it with the sales office too.

Yep, will do, thx rrknight. I guess we'll find out for sure on Sunday (we don't have the actual contracts since we never bothered making a copy before dropping them off at our lawyers'....so we really have no clue what we'll be actually signing, lol).

We just have the schedule A that was attached to the price lists for 43's and 50's. The 50's show casement and you say the 36's are casement so I'm optimistic that the schedule A attached to our 43' price list, which says sliders, is a mistake ...hope so anyway. We'll find out soon enuf either way. :)

There actually seems to be more than 1 schedule (for our phase/model). For example for our house, when we went to the D.C., she asked which Schedule did I receive (One from the end of October, or November 1st?). I said I wasn't sure, so she gave me photocopies of both so we can browse around having some details.

When I went home, I realized that the Oct 24th version vs Nov 1 had all casements. The Nov one had casements in front only. So I quickly checked my schedule, and luckily it was the first one. So Im guessing they got an updated schedule from Mattamy, then all new ppl booking 50' lots in 4a received the newer version without all casements.

Not sure how they do it or if there is a science behind it

We were told at the sales office that there was a clerical error with the schedules and an older one (from before they went to all-casements) mistakenly got copied, but that they are in fact building the homes with casements and will amend our mistaken schedule A in the purchase agreement to that effect.

Did they call you and tell you, or did you inquire about the discrepancy and that's when they told you of the correction?

Just curious
