I am not aware of any builder that actually gives out blueprints unless you got a custom built home. But of course you provide the drawings in the first place. :)

Unfortunately, these homes are built in an assembly line style of manufacturing, much like a car. This keeps costs down. With a car you do not get mechanical schematics either.

Also I think there is a question of copyright on design, but don't quote me on that.

Hello all,
I didn't even ask Mattamy, I went straight to the town and got them myself. Call Town of Milton 905-878-7252 all you have to do is request your home name, elevation, lot number and phase your blueprints will be ready in a couple of weeks, cost $2.00 - $3.00 for photocopying. When you go to pick up have with you your Purchase and Sale Agreement and photo ID. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Crap crap crap! Guess what.....The Town of Milton just passed a new bylaw a few weeks ago so it costs $88.97 (plus a few extra bucks for photocopying) for these blueprint drawings now. Apparently they had a "surge" of requests in the past month of people from Hawthorne Village requesting these, so they're now charging more for it. Before the bylaw anyone could get their blue prints for just the price of the photocopies. My fault for waiting so long to call :-(

You still need to bring photo ID and a copy of your puchase agreement. I still think it's worth it though. If you are paying so much for your house, I just feel comfortable knowing I have the blueprints for it.

Oh also the plans don't show electrical. But they have pages for heating, architectural floor plans, roof trusses, etc..

I just ordered our Greensburg Elev B structural & heat and duct blueprints. At this time it will take around 2 weeks to get, but should usually take 2-3 days to get them photocopied.

The fees are:

Structural Drawings only $76

Structural & Heating $88

You will need photo id (ie Drivers licence) & purchase & Sale agreement to pick them up.

Phone 905-878-7252 ext 2397. I found the lady there very helpful.

NOTE: It is better to get your prints after you have done your structural so that any changes that you have done to the house have been updated on the blueprints.

Tim

Do you mean the survey? beacuse normally the only thing the lawyer receives is the survey not the working drawings of the property.

For those standard/upgrades....no1 confirmed yet any of those changes BUT they said there is a list of changes they r working on it ....and it is to our advantages as they said ....looking for better future quality :o

What do you mean that no one can confirm the standard/upgrades? It has already been confirmed by the design centre that at a minimum phases 12-13 (not sure who else) are getting, and some have already gotten:
-spray foam insulation
-upgraded light fixtures
-upgraded bathroom faucets
-upgraded interior door handles
-white paint trim
So, I am not sure what you are referring to? Can you please elaborate?
Bonnie

Bonnie... I got all of those upgrades except for the white trim.
I'm not in the same phase.. but I closed in May
