Has anyone been to either the Erin Mills or the Burlington Milestones? Good or bad experiences? We've been in Toronto and North York and haven't been thrilled, but want to give them another shot (mostly because we have gift certificates!).

We went to Milestones after so many people raving about it, food was good but nothing to brag about IMO. I don't think I'd go back. For the same price, I'd prefer The Keg or Canyon Creek.

Hmmmm canyon creek! YUM!

For the record I have never been impressed with Milestones. Is it a giftcard that can be used at only Milestones? I know a lot of the parent companies now come out with gc's that can be used at any restaurant in their chain.

I recommend The Keg or Sharkey's on Dorval/QEW instead.

I think Milestone's sucks, as their food portions are horribly small and they take too long, although the inside is really nice. I would only ever go to Milestone's if it was the only nice place around and it was for business.

I used to live by the one in Burlington - the service took FOREVER.

Your gc should be good for places like Kelsey's, Montana's, etc.

Now, I like the Milestone's off of John Street in downtown TO. Completely different experience than the one in Burlington.

That being said, I'm going to the one by the airport for my Bachelorette dinner on July 26th! :)

Yes, the gift card is good for Kelsey's & Montana's as well, but those are places we've been to recently. This is the 1st dinner out with no kids and we're looking for something a bit different. That being said, if the concensus is that Milestone's suck, we'll do Kelsey's instead :-)

Since it's a special occasions, how about re-gift the card, and go upscale at Ruth's Chris, or Harbour 60 in Toronto? http://www.harboursixty.com/

I looooooove their Bellinis. Usually on a trip to Milestones, I've had a few and it doesn't matter to me about the service and food

Actually I rarely eat there, but usually go there for drinks and appetizers with the girls.....did I mention I loooooooove their bellinis??? LOL

Nice thought, but I'm pretty sure I couldn't convince my husband to spend that much :D , that and our sitter would prefer that we aren't out too long (can't take too much advantage of the free babysitters!).

I've only been to the Milestone's off the Queensway, but I really like their food. Of course, I usually get a sandwich and a salad - not sure how their entrees are.

Sharkey's is still around? I used to love that place when it was on Lakeshore. I thought it closed up for good. I am going to be checking that one out for sure!

Yep, I think this Sharkey's used to be The Keg in Oakville. It is THE only restaurant in Oakville I've been to so far where the service was friendly and not snobby/arrogant like many of the other restaurants in town I've tried. They have a section where they have leopard-print carpet, which was kind of funny, but my favourite entrees there are the filet mignon and the grilled bass. Go check it out; it's on the southeast corner of Dorval/QEW. There is also a Sharkey's in Bloor West Village, albeit much smaller.
