I've noticed that too (the space between the garage and where the road looks is now). I'm guessing it is because we are getting the sidewalk, but hopefully not! Getting 2 small cars into the driveway would be great.

Was over to look at our house Sunday night. Things are coming along well for block 227. They have scaffolding along most of the backs of the houses and along our walls and bit of the front. They also had a big load of bricks sitting in front! Looks like we are getting a terra cotta / salmon type colour. Tough to describe. We were hoping for a darker brick, but oh well.

Nope. Didn't see any windows or shingles yet, still just the patio doors. One thing we did notice though was that the end units don't have shared driveways. Only the middle four units have garages next to each other. It was a pleasant surprise for us since we were lead to believe we'd have a shared driveway.

Amanda and I were checking it out on Saturday (we stayed in the car though because of the rain). Almost everyone has all their windows in and our side wall was bricked and the rest of 227 was bricked along the back. Also the back 1/2 of the roof was shingled. It also looked like everyone's porch was poured and set!

Progress is coming along quickly, but I can see why we got delayed by ~6 weeks.

Well, we've done our framewalk last week and things are moving right along. Most of 227 should have their drywall and insulation done by the end of next week.

Also, I noticed that they poured a sidewalk on the north side of Van Fleet between Scott and Speyer continuing it around up Speyer. I hope they don't continue it along on the north side of Van Fleet!

Anyone notice that they have sidewalk on the north side of VFT between Scott and Speyer or whatever that road off of VFT.

I hope they don't continue that all the way along :(

Elizabeth and Kevin, you must be so excited...13 more days. WOOHOO.
As Kbradt mentioned, hope everything goes smooth.
We'll be joining you in a few weeks (Aug.14th).

Kbradt, we're moving in Aug. 14, I've already started calling the utilities, but cogeco said that they don't have digital phone in our area yet. I guess we're going to use cell phones for now, only b/c I don't wanna sign up with Bell and pay long distance to Mississauga and Toronto.

Amanda and I are closing on the 28th of August ... some days it seems like an eternity and others it seems like we don't have enough time to get everything ready!

Thanks everone, I will definitely post pics and keep everyone updated on the neighbourhood. We are so excited!

kbradt, I know what you mean about the summer going too fast, I'm an EA, so I'm off as well. It's too bad you close right before you have to go back to work. We were supposed to close in the begining of June but got delayed. I wasn't too disapointed because now I have a month to get settled.

We called all of the utilities about a month ago (we went with Bell for everything) so all we have left to do is pack and move!!!
We are counting down the days :D

Ya I went by Sunday and everything was locked up :( I could see through the windows that all the tiling was done, the basement floor was poured, and the kitchen cabinets were in.

I think we might be going with Bell. I've called both more then once to go over packages and I have to say, the customer service/sales people at cogeco are completely useless. Bell on the other hand were refreshingly polite, understanding and helpful.

Man, I would have never thought that I would type a paragraph like that in my life ...

Nope, even though we called during the day and said we'd be stopping by after 7, they didn't leave it open. But we hunted down the security guy and asked him to let us in.

A friend of Amanda's came with us on our framewalk. He isn't a home inspector per say, but he has built homes in the past, and he was a building inspected for a number of years. We plan on asking him to join us for the PDI and 30-day as well.
