I thought I would post a review of our recently installed crown molding. We had Liam from LOC Carpentry do the installation, and we couldn't be happier. We only decided to do the main floor at this time to see what our overall thoughts would be with the end result, since we did things a little backwards, and already have the entire house painted.
Well, we certainly were very pleased. Liam estimated a 1.5-2 day job, but was done in under 1 day (~5.5 hours), and the quality of work is great. No corners were cut in that department (like the pun?). Since we already had the house painted, and didn't want to have to re-address the walls after installation of the molding, Liam and his partner took extra care for us to ensure that the caulking on the bottom side of the molding in particular didn't spill over onto the walls, which was much appreciated. All corners, seams and other joints look great, and we're very happy. We'll be asking Liam to quote us on the upstairs now that we know the installation, particularly with our already painted walls, can be done in a high quality manner.
On a related note, we also had Adrian from Straight Line Painting in to paint the crown molding, and as we already experienced with him in the past, his work was also excellent.
These two service providers definitely get the thumbs-up from us, as evidenced by the repeat business we'll be giving them.
If you don't mind me asking how much did it cost you to do your main floor?
