they will pay, if you have collision coverage, but it will be an at fault claim, single vehicle accident, also subject to your deductible.

Right but if it is in fact a hit and run, there should be no problem reporting it to the police because who wants an af claim when there wasn't one??
Maybe someone trying to scam the system??
I too have been in the insurance industry for 10 years and have seen every trick in the book, it's crazy what people try to claim and when it comes to honesty, probably only a handful of claims are "honest" claims. People over-inflate and lie all the time when it comes time to claim.

agreed.

inflation is huge, more so than saying their car was parked and hit, when in fact it was them who hit a car...in my opinion anyways.

Like, we have highest concentration of thugs, comparing to the rest of NA...

So, is this the reason why Ontario insurance here is ridiculously overpriced and discriminative against of young drivers and new Canadian residents?

Where else in NA insurance cost is highway robbery?

I pay $95 a month for auto insurance – full coverage. Hardly robbery.

I imagine if I lived in Brampton or Toronto, it would be much higher, but then that’s where all the fraudsters live, so everyone around them suffers. It’s not the insurance companies fault that immigrant populations have a large number of people who defraud the system.

I had to take a quick trip over to Home Depot (the man store) just now, and I am shaking my head in disbelief at the carnage on our roadways/parking lots. Just north of Main/Thompson, I am stopped behind 2 cars at a red light. The light turns green, and neither move for a solid 6 seconds - so I give a small honk from my truck. Neither move. So then I'm looking around for the emergency vehicles, or someone crossing...nothing. Then I lay on the horn and they finally start to move...unbelievable. Believe me when I say I am a patient person too.,

After I came out of Home Depot, the police are with a man who, obviously had his car hit, and are investigating the damage. The policeman is shaking his head 'no - there is nothing we can do about it'. The man is obviously pissed.

Then, coming home, I get stopped at another red light at Derry/Thompson. There is an advanced green both ways, and the guy beside me, who is going straight, proceeds to go straight through the red light and almost hits the oncoming traffic turning left from the other side.

Not sure if it is the humidity or inattentiveness, or stupidity, but there are some crappy drivers out there.
