The tree in question is the boulevard tree. Even though I know it is not my property or responsibility, I tend to it anyway as though it were. I prune it, removing any retina-scratching branches, since the ToM has never and will never. I weed, feed, overseed and mow the grass for the same reason. So seeing prominent deposits of animal waste on it, 25 feet from the front door, makes me a bit annoyed.
The sign actually makes no mention of any bodily functions and the dog is just sitting there, but if the property isn't yours I guess you can't put a sign.
There really isn't a product that solves this problem because dogs are just trying to pee on the highest point they can so their scent carries. If you get rid of the thing protruding from the ground, they'll pee somewhere else. My dog would pee on a giant pile of dog repellent if that was the only high spot available.
